Reyes’ baby-mama a ‘victim’

Sanchez was arrested on her way to face the baseball star in court this past week — but she insists she was the victim.

Sanchez was arrested for weapons possession on Monday just before she was supposed to face off against Reyes in a Long Island courtroom over child support for their daughter, Liyah, 8.

It was alleged that Sanchez got into a fight with two women in the parking lot of Starbucks and was brandishing “spiked brass knuckles” — but Sanchez insists that the cops didn’t realize she had a trendy “knuckle clutch” handbag and never threatened the women, who she says were attacking her and hurling racial insults.

Sanchez, who is Puerto Rican, told us, “I drove into Starbucks to meet my attorney before court, and these women started on me for no reason, calling me a ‘spic’ and a ‘stupid bitch.’ They were banging and kicking my car, and threw a coffee on the hood. I called 911. They were cursing me out and going crazy. It was terrifying. I didn’t get out of the car because I was dressed for court, and I didn’t want to jeopardize getting to the hearing, nor getting home to my child.”

But when the cops arrived, Sanchez says, she was treated as the aggressor. “The cops treated me like a criminal, when I was the victim — I was the one who called 911. The officers said the knuckle piece of the clutch bag was considered a weapon. I wouldn’t carry a weapon, I’m a mother! I am fighting for my daughter who has been abandoned by her father. He hasn’t seen her in a year.” Reyes is a married father of three who Sanchez claims cut support for their daughter.

Sanchez was arrested and spent six hours in jail while the other two women went free. She added, “I was humiliated. I wasn’t treated fairly. There were two white girls who attacked me and my car, but I’m the Puerto Rican girl who got arrested.” She was charged with misdemeanor possession of a weapon, because of “the bag.”

Her attorney, Steven Gildin, said they were seeking CCTV footage to prove her innocence. The case with Reyes was postponed to Dec. 13.
