JETS BLITZ

- by Greg Joyce

HERO

For most of the overtime period, it looked as though the game might end in a tie, but Jets kicker Chandler Catanzaro came through with a 41-yard field goal with 28 seconds left. It was his third field goal of the game, and while he missed a 45-yarder at the end of the first half, he found redemption in overtime.

ZERO

Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles left his magic in London. A week after completing 21-of-34 passes for 244 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions, Bortles was 15-for-35 for 140 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Marqise Lee didn’t help in OT, dropping a third-down pass that could have put the Jaguars in field-goal range.

UNSUNG HERO

Defensive end Kony Ealy (above), whose sister recently died, batted down three passes at the line of scrimmage and got his hands on a fourth, tipping it to himself for an interception that led to a Jets field goal. He nearly had a pick-six, but Bortles was able to drag him down before he found the end zone.

per carry the Jets averaged on the ground, thanks to some big plays from Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire, who filled in just fine for the injured Matt Forte. Powell busted a 75-yard touchdown run and McGuire broke loose for a 69-yard score. Together, the two combined for 256 yards on 31 carries.
