NETS NOTES

-

“I would guess we’ll start and finish both halves together and in between it will be either me or him while the other person rests. That’s my guess,” Lin said.

“I think you’ll see that, I’d like to have one of those guys at the point the whole game. That’d be pretty nice,” Atkinson said. “I’m not going to say definitely that’s how it’s going to play out, but that’s in my mind, keeping D’Angelo or Jeremy at the point the whole game.”

Lin checked out with the Nets up 78-64 with 6:46 left in the third. Russell left 53 seconds later with Brooklyn ahead 81-64. Neither played again.

With many athletes kneeling during the playing of the nation anthem, the NBA reiterated its rules about standing during the anthem. And Tuesday night neither the Knicks or Nets flouted the league’s authority. The Knicks interlocked arms during the anthem, while the Nets engaged in no protest or gesture whatsoever.

“We just had a discussion, but we feel like at this point we probably won’t do anything,” Lin said. “Not that we don’t believe in anything, but a lot of what we had wanted to say has been said.” So I feel like we’re just going to stand and at the same time figure out off the court — as individuals, as an organization, as a team — what we can do. But that’s an ongoing discussion.”

Allen Crabbe and Caris LeVert missed the opener with sprained ankles.
