Motown for sale

-

SOME of Motown founder Berry Gordy’s most prized possessions are going up for auction this week. Berry’s Detroit home was known as “the Motown Mansion” — but he sold it, as well as all its contents, in 2002 to Cynthia Reaves. She then resold over the summer for $1.65 million after a two-year search. We hear that some of the most noteworthy items include a 1968 Diana Ross & the Supremes concert program, as well as a 1927 Steinway & Sons grand piano. The threeday sale at the home, which Berry bought in 1967, will run from Thursday through Saturday. The admission fee will run you $5.
