Conservative: Twitter Should Stay Out of Abortion Politics

-

Twitter this week pulled a campaign video by Tennessee Republican Marsha Blackburn, who’s running to replace Sen. Bob Corker, over “a provocatively factual statement regarding Planned Parenthood’s side business of selling baby organs,” reports David Harsanyi at The Federalist. Twitter reversed itself Wednesday after first declaring the video was “deemed an inflammatory statement that is likely to evoke a strong negative reaction.” Problem: That rule would leave Twitter “banning almost every group from promoting political and ideological content,” including Planned Parenthood — “unless, that is, Twitter has a political motive or ideological disposition that makes it find only certain positions inflammatory.” Truth is, “it’s not the first time the social media giant has run interference for the abortion industry.”
