McAdoo will revisit DRC ban

The drama continues for the 0-5 Giants.

Coach Ben McAdoo said Friday morning he will “revisit” the suspension of cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie at the beginning of next week. McAdoo would not disclose whether there are any terms he expects Rodgers-Cromartie to meet in order to lift the “indefinite” suspension.

The punishment stemmed from Rodgers-Cromartie’s actions during a 27-22 Sunday loss to the Chargers, when the veteran left the bench area and went into the locker room during the second half — a violation of team rules.

Rodgers-Cromartie had a “personal and private” conversation Tuesday with McAdoo and then came to the practice facility Wednesday morning before deciding to leave, prompting the suspension.

“There was a lot that went in to it,” McAdoo said. “We like to handle things internally, in house, on a case-bycase basis. We don’t like to broadcast it.”

Still, McAdoo admitted he had not yet addressed the players on the topic, given the timing.

“When we report to work on Wednesday, our sole focus is getting ready for the next opponent,” he said. “Because timing was an issue in this situation, the players will be addressed and kept in the loop at the appropriate time.”

Apparently “the appropriate time” was shortly after his press conference.

Speaking four hours later, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul confirmed the players had been informed about the issue.

“He addressed it. I’m pretty sure he and DRC worked it out and whatever happened happened. He [McAdoo] addressed it today,” JPP said.

“I don’t even know what happened. As far as I know he’ll be back next week. It’s football. We’re going to roll with the troops we’ve got here.”
