Rev. Al’s kid walks just fine down aisle
She may have a $5 million injured ankle — but that didn’t stop the Rev. Al Sharpton’s daughter from walking down the aisle Sunday.
Dominique Sharpton, 30 — who is suing the city for seven figures over an alleged ankle injury — successfully made her way to the altar to wed fellow activist Marcus Bright, 33, in a public ceremony at the Greater Allen AME Cathedral in Queens.
The Sharptons invited one and all to the nuptials because “the community watched [Dominique] grow up,” according to a press release. But many attendees wound up looking at their watches, as the ceremony started more than an hour late.
Once it began, a beaming Rev. Al proudly walked with his daughter to the alter. Dominique showed no hint of limping. She had no trouble pulling the impressively long lace train for her scoop-necked gingham gown by designer Yumi Katsura.
Dominique and Bright will not be taking a honeymoon, publicist Rachel Noerdlinger said.
“He has two jobs, she has a job. They don’t have the time,” she said.
The bride and groom run Education for a Better America, a group associated with Al Sharpton’s National Action Network.
The late start is not the first time Dominique has been tardy. She has missed four recent appointments to give a deposition in her ongoing personal-injury lawsuit.
Judge Alexander Tisch threatened to toss the case when her lawyer didn’t show up for a May hearing.
Dominique filed her $5 million claim against the city in 2015, alleging she permanently injured her ankle when she fell on a Manhattan street.
