‘Dr. Doom’ Faber defends racist report

Marc Faber, a notoriously bearish Wall Street analyst, on Tuesday defiantly defended vile passages in a recent report that said, “thank God white people populated America, and not the blacks.”

“Otherwise,” Faber (photo right) continued, “the US would look like Zimbabwe, which it might look like one day anyway, but at least America enjoyed 200 years in the economic and political sun under a white majority.”

The passages quickly went viral across Wall Street and quickly sparked a backlash as the pub- lisher of his monthly newsletter ousted him from its board and two cable TV business channels banned him.

“If I recall we have freedom of speech and expression,” Faber, a Hong Kong-based, Swiss-born financier, known as Dr. Doom, wrote in an e-mail to The Post. “I am not prepared to compromise this freedom and liberty.”

In further e-mails, Faber, who writes the “The Gloom, Boom & Doom Report” newsletter — famous for its bearish take on the markets — said, “I am aware that we all have different values, but I was talking about economic progress when I wrote my report, not [white nationalist] values.”

Faber, 71, had made his name as a market bear, predicting busts that usually never came true.

On Tuesday, the Fox Business Network and CNBC each said they had no plans to invite him back on their shows. He hadn’t appeared on Bloomberg since 2016, the network said.
