Actor: Spacey hit on me as a kid
A “Star Trek” actor has accused Hollywood star Kevin Spacey of making a sexual advance toward him when he was just 14, according to a report.
Anthony Rapp — best known for his roles in the “Rent” movie and the “Star Trek: Discovery” series — described the alleged incident in an interview with BuzzFeed News.
Rapp, now 46, reportedly met the then-26-year-old Spacey at a party while they were both on Broadway in separate shows in 1986.
“He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold,” Rapp said, noting that they were alone in a bedroom.
“But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘ What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me. He was trying to seduce me.”
Spacey soon left without further incident Rapp said.
Spacey responded in a tweet, in which he admitted for the fist time that he is gay — and did not deny Rapp’s claims.
“I honestly do not remember the encounter . . . but if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,” he wrote.
He went on to say, “In my life, I have had relationships with both men and women. . . I choose now to live as a gay man.
He also said he wanted “to deal with this honestly,” “and that starts with examining my own behavior.”
Rapp said he was inspired to come forward by the allegations against Harvey Weinstein.
