Boy toy rules Mariah

-

MARIAH Carey’s career car crash continues. After parting ways with her fiery manager, we hear that Carey is now being managed full time by her much-younger backup-dancer boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka — and that he’s running her life.

Carey has split with her controversial manager Stella Bulochnikov, who engineered her reality show, her just-completed Las Vegas residency, her tour with Lionel Richie and her upcoming Christmas shows.

But a source tells us it was Tanaka, 34 — who has been dating Carey, 47, since her public split from Australian billionaire James Packer — who pushed Bulochnikov out and has since taken over control of Carey’s life and career.

A source tells us: “Bryan is behind the whole split between Mariah and Stella. Bryan believes that he should be the one running Mariah’s dayto-day life, and he’s been orchestrating Stella’s exit for a long time. No one enjoys working with Stella. There’s no secret that some people are happy she’s out of the picture.”

But “the boyfriend backup dancer definitely isn’t the right person to run her career. He’s definitely no Tommy Mottola,” the insider added, referring to Carey’s music-mogul ex-husband who launched her career in 1990 and guided her to superstardom.

Another source speculated to us that Tanaka taking the reins of Carey’s career is a disaster waiting to happen. The source said, “This is a full-on Britney- and- Kevin Federline situation. Brian is a backup dancer, and knows nothing about managing an iconic artist.”

Even worse, the source adds that Carey is paying her boy toy up to $12,000 a week for the privilege of having him run her life. “Mariah is in love with Bryan and is like a schoolgirl around him. He has totally manipulated the situation to take over her life and push out everyone else, and Mariah just can’t see it.”

We’re told that Tanaka has also dispensed with Mariah’s musical director and an attorney who had represented her.

Carey’s spokeswoman Nicole Perna denied to Page Six that Tanaka is currently managing Carey’s career, but declined to explain who actually is. Carey is currently gearing up for her popular “All I Want for Christmas Is You” tour, which kicks off in Ontario on Nov. 17.

She went under the knife last month for gastric sleeve surgery following cruel comments about her weight, Page Six exclusively reported.
