Druggist in Rx ‘skim’

A pharmacist accused of preparing thousands of doses of cancer drugs with too few active ingredients to save money started his trial in Germany Monday.

The pharmacist, identified as Peter S., 47, is charged in state court in Essen with violating medicinal products law in 61,980 cases, 27 counts of attempted bodily harm, and fraud, dpa reported.

The defendant allegedly defrauded insurers of about $65 million and harmed hundreds of patients.
