It’d be bye-bye, Bubba now: DeB

-

Former President Bill Clinton would have had to resign over the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal if it had happened now, Mayor de Blasio said Monday.

“If it happened today, there would have been a very different reaction. No question,” de Blasio said at an unrelated press conference Monday afternoon.

“I don’t think you can rework history. I think if it happened today — if any president did that today — they would have to resign.”

Hizzoner’s remarks came in response to a question about Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s statement last week about how Clinton’s resignation would have been the “appropriate response.”

De Blasio also weighed in on his pal Louis C.K.’s sexual-harassment scandal.

The comedian, who admitted to masturbating in front of colleagues, headlined a de Blasio fundraiser during his re-election bid. After the Harvey Weinstein sex-assault allegations came to light, de Blasio called on politicians who received money from the Hollywood producer to return it, but said Monday the same standard does not apply to C.K.

“I don’t think you can say money raised off of an event is the same standard,” he said. “A donation from someone who did something wrong is one question. The fact that hundreds of people went to an event that someone appeared at before anyone knew he had done anything inappropriate — I think that that’s just not the same scenario.”

Still, de Blasio condemned C.K’.s behavior.

“It’s very troubling. I’m glad he came forward and admitted it, but I don’t understand what he was thinking,” he said. “It’s not acceptable behavior. It’s as simple as that.”
