Binge on turkey, then binge on these shows

- By LAUREN SARNER

T HE holidays are approaching, which means you’ll finally have time to catch up on your favorite TV shows. And if your favorites are between seasons, well, we’ve found some streaming shows to tide you over.

If you love “Game of Thrones,” try “Black Sails” on Amazon

Four seasons of epic swordclashing action and backroom scheming feature several “Game of Thrones” actors, including Tom Hopper (the ill-fated Dickon Tarly) and Luke Roberts (Ser Arthur Dayne). There’s even a satisfying finale! All four seasons are on Amazon.

If you love “The Big Bang Theory,” try “The Good Place” on Netflix

Kristen Bell and Ted Danson headline this offbeat, afterlife romp, which is full of clever twists. Season 2 of “The Good Place” is still airing on NBC and on Hulu but Season 1 is streaming on Netflix.

If you love “This Is Us,” try “The Leftovers” on HBO Go

The heart-tugging roller coaster “This Is Us” had an earlier incarnation: HBO’s “The Leftovers.” It’s stranger than the NBC hit, but no less emotional. And its fine thirdseason finale seems like showrunner Damon Lindelof ’s apology for what he did with “Lost.”

If you love “Big Little Lies,” try “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” on Amazon

Still no word on whether there’ll be a Season 2 of “Big Little Lies,” but for now, Amazon offers comparable thrills with this new series, about an upper-class woman (Rachel Brosnahan) whose world falls apart, thanks to her husband’s bad behavior. It’s from “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy ShermanPalladino, so expect dialogue crackling with wit and snark. The entire first season is out Nov. 29.

If you love “Mindhunter,” try “Alias Grace” on Netflix

That “Mindhunter” mix of murder and psychology is present in the six-episode miniseries “Alias Grace,” based on the Margaret Atwood novel. It’s a historical “whydunit” that keeps you guessing about the protagonist’s motives and mental state until the end. An eclectic cast includes Sarah Gadon, Zachary Levi and Anna Paquin.

If you love “Stranger Things,” try “Runaways” on Hulu

“Stranger Things” appeals to people of all ages by paying equal attention to kids, teens and worldweary adults. Similarly, Hulu’s new superhero show “Runaways” devotes equal screen time to teens and their parents — set against a backdrop of supernatural happenings.

If you love “Riverdale,” try “The 100” on Netflix

The CW’s pulpy, fun “Riverdale” is popular, in part, because of its addictively breakneck plot. If highspeed twists appeal to you, watch “The 100,” whose tribal societies, at war in a post-apocalyptic world, match up nicely with the gangs and cliques of Riverdale High.

If you love “The Deuce,” try “Harlots” on Hulu

This period drama also features a deep-dive into the world of sex work. The difference is that “Harlots” is set in 18th-century brothels instead of 1970s Times Square.

If you love “The Night Of ” and “The Jinx,” try “American Vandal” on Netflix

Fans of crime dramas who know their tropes will get the jokes on “American Vandal,” a surprisingly clever sendup of the “did they do it and why?” trend. Its first season is currently streaming.

If you love “The Good Doctor,” try “Atypical” on Netflix

ABC’s first season of “The Good Doctor” was a hit, thanks to its mix of heart and medicine, as it followed an autistic young surgeon. Netflix’s original series “Atypical” also centers around an autistic main character as he goes about his daily life. The first season is out in its entirety.
