Country-music star Keith Urban has reportedly purchased a lavish $39 million Manhattan town house for his wife, Nicole Kidman, so she can take her acting career to Broadway.

Urban bought the six-story Upper East Side town house — which Michael Jackson once called home — so the Oscar winner, 50, can pursue her stage dreams after starring in a London production of the award-winning play “Photograph 21,” according to Women’s Day.

“Nicole is keen to do Broadway shows and get into making TV programs, and New York is a much better place for them to be than Nashville,” a source told the magazine.

The mansion was put on the market by billionaire hedgefunder Marc Lasry, The Post first reported earlier this month.

Built in 1898, the 25-foot-wide East 74th Street home is 12,745 square feet and has 16 rooms, including seven bedrooms.

The mansion features an oak staircase, 10 wood-burning fireplaces, and a private roof deck with a kitchen on the sixth floor.

“Michael Jackson briefly rented the house when it was an apartment building. He put tinfoil on the windows to block them out,” a top broker who has toured the property told The Post.

“The house is big and it has light — but the interior was never renovated back into a single family mansion.”

The broker added that the home needs work before the star and her family move in.

“Nicole Kidman has great taste,” the broker said. “I don’t know about her husband, but if they are the buyers, then they have a lot of work to do. It’s a bit of a [crap] of a house at the moment.”

Despite the report of the sale, the town house still appears on The Modlin Group’s site and on Streeteasy as an active listing, with no notice that it is in contract or has sold. It went on the market on Nov. 14.

The listed broker, Adam Modlin, could not be reached for comment.

Urban and Kidman will likely feel right at home in their new neighborhood, which is a hotbed for movie stars and musicians.

“I’m used to seeing celebrities,” said Tony Bueno, a 58-year-old doorman who has worked in a building across from the town house for 24 years.

“There are a lot of rich and famous people that live here.”

Bueno said he spotted Tom Hanks taking a stroll past the town house just last week, and was confident Kidman’s move would take a while.

“It’ll probably be a year before they move in after they do renovations because these people always do something to the place,” he noted. “You don’t buy a $40 million home and just move right in.”
