SALON BROW BEATER

‘1-star’ Yelp threat

- By MELISSA KLEIN

Someone is browbeating two customers who posted negative reviews about an Upper East Side salon on the Yelp Web site. Women who complained about Brows by Victoria said they have received threatening and insulting texts. “You ugly a-- bitch with a f--ked up nose job when i catch you I’m gonna punch you right in your face,” read a text one customer received. A second woman also got nasty missives that slammed her as a “drug addict and a fat, ugly housewife,” and one threatening, “If you don’t take down your review, I know where you live. I know where you work.” Owner Victoria McMillian denies sending the tests and calls the negative reviews “false and unfounded.” “This business has a loyal following and over 100 positive reviews on Yelp, please let the majority of what yelpers are saying and the work speak for itself,” she posted on the site Saturday.

Upper West Side mother Jessica Droppa said McMillian ordered her to leave the East 74th Street salon when Droppa arrived too early for an appointment last month. When she returned, McMillian barked at her to “sit up straight,” Droppa said.

“I got really scared,” Droppa said. “I was afraid she might burn me with wax.”

Droppa posted a one-star Yelp review of the shop Nov. 18, saying McMillian was “beyond rude,” and “is a BULLY who does brows.”

But McMillian insists she couldn’t complete the brow job because Droppa was “incoherent” and “mentally disturbed,” and refunded her money.

Droppa said she filed a police report after getting the threatening test and was told the messages came from an untraceable “burner phone.”

The second victim, a former longtime client who asked not to be identified, said she received abusive texts, also from an untraceable number, after posting a negative Yelp review.

She called police but didn’t file a report.

McMillian said she’s now monitoring the Yelp page “due to . . . unfounded accusations.”
