Eric Trump
The Eric Trump Foundation, run by President Trump’s son, raked in $3.2 million in donations last year, and spent some of its money at Trump Organization properties.
Its latest tax filing shows the charity paid $98,730 to hold its annual golf tourney at the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester, but reported that the goods and services were worth $183,820.
It also reported that it got discounted rates at the Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla., for a dinner event; the Trump Golf Links Ferry Point in The Bronx for a tournament; and the Trump Soho hotel for a golf tournament event.
The foundation gave $2.9 million to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., $15,000 to the Staten Island Zoo, and $10,000 to Chai Lifeline, a Manhattan charity that runs a camp for sick kids.
Last year, state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman began looking at the foundation after Forbes reported possible self-dealing in the use of the Trump Organization properties.
Eric Trump, a Trump Organization exec, said he used the properties at no cost, Forbes reported.
He said in December 2016 that he would stop soliciting funds for the charity, which has mainly benefitted St. Jude, to avoid conflicts of interest.
The group is now called the Curetivity Foundation.
