Testing ground

Another crazy week in the NFL, particularly at the quarterback position, where Eli Manning has been benched by the Giants after starting 210 consecutive games, the 49ers finally take the bubble wrap off Jimmy Garoppolo, and Chiefs fans are calling for roo

It’s difficult to imagine a more intriguing game on this week’s NFL schedule than the 10-1 Eagles playing at 7-4 Seattle on Sunday night.

As impressive as the Eagles have been, already wrapping up the NFC East with five weeks to go, this game could serve as a good litmus test for Philadelphia, considering how tough the Seahawks are at home. Don’t tell that to Eagles safety Malcolm

Jenkins, though.

“For us, there’s nothing to measure,’’ Jenkins told reporters this week. “We are our measuring stick.’’

Jenkins has a point, considering the Eagles have won by 28 or more points in each of their past three games and second-year quarterback, Carson Wentz, leads the NFL with 28 TD passes this season.

The last time the Eagles were truly tested came in October, when they won, 28-23, at Carolina. Next week, the Eagles play the 8-3 Rams in what could be another possible playoff preview.

“We obviously have got a lot of respect for these teams that are coming up in Seattle and then L.A.,” Jenkins said. “We feel like the next three weeks [including at the Giants on Dec. 17] are going to be huge for us, being on the road in December, and obviously we look forward to a prime-time matchup with a team that we’ve got a lot of respect for [in Seattle].”

The Eagles will fly from Seattle to L.A. and stay there all week before a matchup pitting the top two picks in the 2016 draft: Rams quarterback and Wentz.
