Sept.2,1982 Steven Spielberg was at Giants Stadium in the Meadowlands the other night for the Cosmos playoff victory with Steve Ross, board chairman of Warner Communications, which owns the soccer team. Our Phil Mushnick asked Ross if he’d seen Spielberg’s current movie sensation, “E.T.” Ross replied he’d seen it twice and cried both times — once over the story, the second time because his company hadn’t made the film.
