Cuo raisesbudget stakes
Gov. Cuomo says state legislators won’t see a pay hike in 2018 if they don’t pass an on-time budget.
“I will not be supportive of a raise if the budget isn’t done on time, period,” Cuomo said on Thursday.
The warning is becoming an annual ritual for lawmakers, who earn a base salary of $79,500 and haven’t seen a raise since 1998 — though some earn tens of thousands extra for leadership roles.
New York City Council members earn $148,500 a year.
