Ailing finger won’t stop Pierre-Paul from playing vs. Dallas

Jason Pierre-Paul was back on the practice field Friday, his right hand wrapped after he had sat out earlier in the week with an injured finger. Afterward, Pierre-Paul said there was no doubt he would play Sunday versus the Cowboys.

It’s the same hand the defensive end severely injured two years ago in a fireworks accident and he didn’t rule out the possibility of wearing a club-like padding similar to the one he wore in 2015.

Pierre-Paul declined to say how he suffered the injury or how badly it was hurt, but he added he wasn’t concerned about any long-term impact on his hand. Why? “Because I’ll be out there playing Sunday,” said PierrePaul, who was listed as ques- tionable on Friday’s injury report. And even with the extra protection, Pierre-Paul said he would be “full-go” against the Cowboys.

One of the first things Steve Spagnuolo changed when he became the interim head coach this week was the Giants’ practice schedule, reverting to a traditional workload of having a regular practice Friday followed by a walkthrough Saturday.

“I think we can get a little bit more work done,’’ Spagnuolo said of practicing on Friday instead of Saturday. “I think this part of the season, I thought our guys were fresh enough that we could do it.”

Spagnuolo also pointed to his “comfort level,” which he hoped would be shared with much of the team.

But he’s also aware there’s only one day that really matters.

“The most important thing is will it be productive for us on Sunday,” Spagnuolo said. “We’ll find out about that in a couple of days.”

Spagnuolo also reversed another Ben McAdoo innovation and the players will go back to being off Tuesday instead of Monday.

Odell Beckham Jr. wrote on Twitter he’ll be on the sideline Sunday and he threw his support behind Eli Manning, who will return as the starting quarterback after being benched for last week’s game at Oakland.

“I [can’t wait] to be back in Met Life on Sunday,” said the wide receiver, who is out for the season with a fractured ankle. “It’s time to get this train back on the right track.”

He then referenced Manning as No. 10 and wrote: “[Lead] the way… We all support you.”

Beckham recently had a boot taken off his ankle.
