NCAA: Duke dunked by Eagles

Ky Bowman finished with 30 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists to help Boston College beat top-ranked Duke, 89-84, on Saturday in Boston and send the Blue Devils to their first loss of the season.

The Eagles (7-3) have won three straight games against the No. 1 team in The Associated Press Top 25. Gary Trent Jr. scored 25 for Duke (11-1).

In Newark, Chris Chiozza scored the final six points of the game and No. 5 Florida (6-3) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 66-60 victory over No. 17 Cincinnati (7-2).

In Piscataway, freshman Geo Baker had his first career double-double with 19 points and 11 assists, while fellow backcourt mates Corey Sanders had 19 points and Mike Williams had 17 points to lead Rutgers past Fairleigh Dickinson, 92-54.

In Syracuse, Tyus Battle scored 24 points, Oshae Brissett added a careerhigh 20 and Syracuse (8-1) defeated Colgate, 72-58. It was Syracuse’s 52nd-straight win over Colgate (3-6).

In The Bronx, Will Tavares had 21 points, Joseph Chartouny added 19 and Prokop Slanina dropped in 18 as Fordham (4-5) beat St. Francis (Brooklyn) (2-7), 76-68.

In The Bronx, Rich Williams scored 16 points and had a career-high eight assists to lead Manhattan (4-5) to an 80-66 victory over Morgan State (4-6).

In Newark, E.J. Crawford scored 19 points, Rickey McGill added 17, including the go-ahead bucket with under a minute to play, and Iona (4-4) held for a 74-70 win over NJIT (5-5).
