IT’S not your regular regal portrait.
Gazing directly into the camera, Britain’s Prince Harry and his American fianceé, Meghan Markle, simply dazzle in a new image that further celebrates their engagement.
The hot snap — which shows the 36-year-old actress in a sheer-top $75,000 gown — blasts away centuries of stuffi- ness by the UK royal family.
It oozes sex in the way that only a couple deeply in love — and lust — do. Harry’s grandma, Queen Elizabeth II, 91, and grandad, the Duke of Edinburgh, 96, must have spat out their Earl Grey tea when they spotted the daring shoot.
All credit to New York photographer Alexi Lubomirski, who captured the pair’s romantic glances in a session that’s straight from the pages of a glossy magazine such as Vogue.
Two other pictures by the Polish-born aristocrat were also released Thursday, but the immaculately-dressed duo holding hands on the steps of royal residence Frogmore House makes for the more arresting of the trio.
The lovebirds’ adorable headto-cheek pose is a marked contrast to royal engagement portraits of the past. For instance, the equivalent picture of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge taken by Mario Testino in November 2010 looks like a waxwork in comparison.
Meanwhile, Markle’s extravagant dress, by British designer Ralph & Russo, is arguably the riskiest outfit worn in an official photograph by a Windsor bride-to-be.
But Markle’s decency is preserved. The California-born star appears to be sporting nude underwear. A strategically placed pattern of ferns does a stellar job, too.
Lubormirski’s creation is perfect for the Instagram age, when people want to see their royals and other celebrities looking happy, relaxed and accessible.
So chill out, Queen Liz and Prince Phillip. Your hunky grandson has snagged a fine filly. Roll on, May 19, 2018, when a breathless world will watch Harry and Meghan’s wedding in glorious close-up — with or without a Valencia filter.
