OFFENSE

How can it be that a terrible unit keeps getting worse? Eli

Manning (27 of 45, 263 yards, 2 INTs) was responsible for three turnovers, and he had absolutely no help from a terrible (43 yards) running game. Manning often faded away, throwing off his back foot, worried about the rush (he was sacked twice). Penalties by

Brett Jones and Ereck Flowers on the same miserable fourthquarter series. Did not help that tight end Evan Engram ( 1-12) got hurt late in the first quarter. First shutout in more than three years. F

DEFENSE

These guys deserved better.

Damon Harrison led a solid run-stopping effort (2.7 yards per rushing attempt). DE

Olivier Vernon hit the arm of Drew Stanton to force a fumble late in the first quarter. CB Ross Cockrell had two interceptions. Fill-in starting CB

Brandon Dixon was beaten for touchdowns by Larry Fitzgerald (9-119) and John Brown and had a rough afternoon. Tough break for Landon Collins — his season is finished after fracturing his right arm. C

SPECIAL TEAMS

Rookie kicker Aldrick Rosas was wide left on a 33-yard field goal attempt, which simply cannot happen. Eli Apple was called for a 10-yard holding penalty while playing on the punt return team. There also were penalties on Jerell Adams and Ryan

Murphy on punt teams. Brad Wing dropped two punts down inside the 20, but continues to have difficulty driving the ball. Hey, at least there were no blocked kicks allowed, an improvement from last week. D

COACHING

Interim head coach Steve

Spagnuolo second-guessed himself for not double-teaming Larry Fitzgerald. We agree. Spagnuolo continues to be too conservative with a team going nowhere. He also has put Eli Apple in the Witness Protection Program. One week after his game plan led to a ton of yards, offensive coordinator

Mike Sullivan’s attack was a dud. What a mess. F
