From new series to returning favorites, here’s your guide to the season’s offerings. INTER is here, and along with cold nights and salted sidewalks, it also brings a deep bench of “Grown-ish” (Jan. 3, 8 p.m., Freeform) A new spinoff of ABC’s “Black

ish” following the Johnsons’ daughter, Zoey (Yara Shanidi), as she embarks on her college journey. “The X-Files” (Jan. 3, 8 p.m., Fox) Scully (Gillian Anderson) and Mulder (David Duchovny) return to investigat­e the paranormal for an 11th season. “The Good Place” (Jan. 4, 8:30 p.m., NBC) Michael Schur’s quirky afterlife comedy starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson returns from its midseason break. “David Bowie: The Last 5 Years” (Jan. 8, 8 p.m., HBO) The musician’s final years and last creative endeavors are chronicled in this documentar­y. “This Is Us” (Jan. 9, 9 p.m., NBC) Season 2 returns for its second half of tearjerkin­g moments with stars Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Milo Ventimigli­a, Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley and Chris Sullivan.

“Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams” (Jan. 12 on Amazon) The sci-fi author’s work has inspired countless classics (“Blade Runner”) and now a new anthology series. Stars include Terrence Howard, Anna Paquin, Richard Madden (“Game of Thrones”) and Steve Buscemi. “Black Lightning” (Jan. 16, 9 p.m., The CW) The network’s first superhero show with an African-American lead (Cress Williams) and its fifth DC superhero series). “The Assassinat­ion of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” (Jan. 17, 10 p.m., FX) Season 2 of Ryan Murphy’s true-crime anthology series centers on Gianni Versace’s murder. Starring Darren Criss, Ricky Martin, Penelope Cruz and Edgar Ramirez. “Counterpar­t” (Jan. 21, 8 p.m., Starz) A new sc-fi espionage minieries featuring Oscar winner JK Simmons in a rare live-action TV starring role. “The Alienist” (Jan. 22, 9 p.m., TNT) Period piece crime miniseries created by Cary Fukunaga (“True Detective”) and starring Luke Evans, Daniel Bruhl and Dakota Fanning. “Mosaic” (Jan. 22, 8 p.m., HBO) A Steven Soderbergh-directed murder mystery miniseries starring Sharon Stone and Garret Hedlund (“Mudbound”). “Waco” (Jan. 24, Paramount. No timeslot yet.) Miniseries starring Michael Shannon and Taylor Kitsch about the 1993 FBI raid of David Koresh’s Branch Davidian sect in Waco, Texas — and the 51-day siege and shootout. “AP Bio” (Feb. 1, 9:30 p.m., NBC) New comedy from “SNL” alums Seth Meyers, Lorne Michaels and Mike O’Brien starring Glenn Howerton (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelph­ia”) as an AP biology teacher. “Two Dope Queens” (Feb. 2, 11:30 p.m., HBO) Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson bring their popular podcast to TV, with episodes featuring Uzo Aduba, Sarah Jessica Parker and others. “Altered Carbon” (Feb. 2 on Netflix) New sci-fi show based on the 2002 cyberpunk novel of the same name starring Joel Kinnamon and James Purefoy.
