Jack in the Box looks to $nack on stoners

Weed and curly fries are a match made in heaven — and Jack in the Box is getting ready to cash in.

The 66-year-old burger chain is teaming up with rapper Snoop Dogg’s Merry Jane cannabis site to offer the “Merry Munchie Meal” — a box of greasy stoner snacks that will sell for $4.20.

The Munchie Meal is perfect for potheads “whether you’re at a concert, up late playing video games, or pulling an allnighter,” said Iwona Alter, Jack in the Box’s marketing chief. “We are about welcoming all of our guests, no matter what they’re craving or why they’re craving it.”

The Munchie Meal includes “halfsies” — a side that’s half curly fries and half onion rings — as well as tacos, five “Mini Churros,” three crispy chicken strips and a drink.

Most dope smokers, however, won’t get a chance to taste the goodies. The promotion only lasts from Jan. 18 to Jan. 25, and will be available only at three locations in California, which is legalizing pot for recreational use beginning Jan. 1.

“Launching the Merry Munchie Meal is the perfect way for both companies to celebrate legalization in our shared home state of California,” said Scott Chung, chief operations officer of the Web site Merry Jane.

Jack in the Box isn’t the first corporate opportunist to seize on California cannabis legislation.

In August, Netflix took over a West Hollywood medical marijuana dispensary, hawking a dozen different strains of weed to promote the streaming service’s shows, including “Disjointed,” “Grace and Frankie,” “Orange Is the New Black” and “BoJack Horseman.”
