NJ teen ‘killer’s gramps in ‘hell’
The grandfather of the 16-year-old boy accused of killing four people, including his parents and sister, at their Jersey Shore home is “devastated” by the New Year’s Eve massacre, a relative told The Post on Wednesday.
“He can’t handle much more,” a sister of Adrian Kologi, 64, said. “He’s been through hell.”
Scott Kologi allegedly gunned down parents Steven and Linda, sister Brittany, and Adrian Kologi’s life partner, Mary Schulz, 70, just minutes before midnight Sunday.
The teen appeared Wednesday at a closeddoor retention hearing in Monmouth County Supe- rior Court, where a judge ordered him to remain in custody.
Monmouth prosecutors are seeking to move his juvenilemurder case to adult court.
A wake for Schulz will be held Friday at WoolleyBoglioli Funeral Home in Long Branch, followed by a funeral service at St. Jerome Church in West Long Branch on Saturday.
Schulz, who retired as a human-resources specialist in 2010, loved acting, and performed the role of a “stone-faced housekeeper” at a local murder mystery dinner theater, according to an obituary in the Asbury Park Press.
She also had a keen interest in genealogy.
“Not only was Mary Ann our family historian, she shared her expertise and passion for genealogy with anyone and everyone,” the obituary said.
“She had a warm presence, generous spirit, and her smile lit up the room.”
