SATURDAY

Falcons (+6½) over RAMS: Atlanta is taking the worst of coast-to-coast journey, but given fiscal interest generated by fact Vegas is virtually an L.A. suburb, public action’s focused on one side. Value is with the ’dog, though prevailing Falcons habit of settling for field goals is an irritant. At least Matt Bryant converts them, while Rams will miss Greg Zuerlein. Sides too fresh from the ashes of seasonal .250 records can be fragile January faves — and all NFC South postseason defenses are imposing. Going with Matt Ryan — and against a side Devonta Freeman can use up clock attacking. Falcons, for one unit.

SUNDAY

SAINTS (-6½) over Panthers: Must be cautious about sides gunning for three-game seasonal sweeps against divisional foes, but can’t ignore that Carolina has endured sustained defensive difficulties with seasonal foes other than current/ previous Norris Division types — or San Fran or Buffalo, before they woke. Prefer New Orleans’ more diversified offensive weaponry, while the Panthers are forced to over-rely on Cam Newton’s skillset. Last chance for Super Bowl winner Drew Brees! March with Dem Saints, for one unit.

LAST WEEK: 1-1. 49ers (W). Dolphins (L). SEASON: 18-18-2.
