Golden Globes Blackout: A Too-Little, Too-Late Show

-

The Post’s front-page headline “Black Gold” should have been “Fools’ Gold” (Jan. 8).

Hollywood hypocrites’ black-clothes fashion statement was a cop-out. If “me, too” and “time’s up” advocates are sincere, why don’t they boy

cott the Golden Globes and the Oscars?

That’s a more meaningful protest than donning fancy clothes and drinking while sharing praise. Richard Reif Kew Gardens Hills

Many actresses at the Golden Globes wore black on the red carpet.

Some of them should have worn sackcloth and ashes as penance for remaining silent while all of the abuse and harassment was going on. Jackie Biaggi The Bronx

Send some of the money you spend on those statement dresses to organizations that provide support and safety to victims of sexual harassment and abuse. M. Morley Long Island

Instead of the Golden Globes, it should’ve been called the Doomsday for Liberals Awards. Joe Mercer Memphis, Tenn.

I could only laugh at the many elites wearing black at the Golden Globes. It was just an attempt to seem like they were doing something in the eyes of their adoring public.

Hollywood needs to get its act together and stamp out all sexual abuse once and for all. Jim Riches Brooklyn

What phonies and hypocrites. They’re all disgusting. They knew about the sexual misconduct and tolerated it. They even joked about it at previous award shows.

Hollywood elites revered and awarded the likes of Roman Polanski and Harvey Weinstein when it benefited them, but now they desperately try to claim the moral high ground. D.M. Diana Greeley, Pa.

I was so looking forward to watching the Golden Globes Awards, especially since Seth Meyers was hosting.

It’s pretty sad that these award shows have become places for political statements and are no longer about acting or the glamour of Hollywood.

I’m not looking forward to the Oscars this year. J. Loconsolo-Gates Woodland Park, NJ.
