The Obama-era program that protects young immigrants known as “Dreamers” is “probably dead,” President Trump declared on Twitter Sunday, blaming its demise on Democrats.

“DACA is probably dead because the Democrats don’t really want it, they just want to talk and take desperately needed money away from our Military,” Trump posted while spending the weekend at his exclusive Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

He was referring to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, a 2012 program he rescinded last September while calling on Congress to make some legislative changes before it expires on March 5.

DACA shields from deportation about 800,000 young immigrants brought to the United States illegally by their parents and is a key part of any immigration reform for Democrats.

But Trump has tied a deal to keep DACA with his campaign vow to build a wall on the Mexican border and more aggressive measures on migration. A government shutdown hangs in the balance.

Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) said any agreement to fund the government, which runs out of money on Friday, must include Dreamers.

“Well, I, for one, will not vote for government funding until we get a deal on DACA,” the civil-rights leader said on ABC’s “This Week.”

Further complicating efforts is the squabbling among lawmakers over whether Trump’s “s--thole countries” remarks last week were racist, according to Sen. Rand Paul — who said the Democratic Party’s bickering is “destroying the setting” to come up with a deal.

“I do want to see an immigration compromise. And you can’t have an immigration compromise if everybody’s out there calling the president a racist,” the Kentucky Republican said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
