MY WEEKEND: Jeff Glor

-

This has always been Nicole’s hobby: She will find the hot restaurants she wants to see. We recently did dinner at the Grill in the old Four Seasons restaurant space, which was redone. The food was very good. Nicole had the branzino — it’s like, a whole fish — and I had steak.

We end up back in Harlem in the 125th Street area probably more than anything because there’s a Dinosaur Bar-B-Que not far from the subway, and right next to it there’s a Cuban place, Floridita. You can go to both with the kids, so we’ll put our name in at Dinosaur, go to Floridita and have an appetizer and drink and then get barbecue at Dinosaur.

The key with kids is: Their window of interest lasts for maybe 20 to 25 minutes. So if we have somewhere to hop right after that, we’ll do it. We go to the Children’s Museum and Natural History Museum a lot with them, especially during the winter. As for Jack, he will play catch no matter what the temperature is!

Nicole and I just did a stayca- tion at the Soho Grand. Very cool vibe in the bar/lounge. We met some friends for dinner at a tapas place, Alta. It was intimate and we were sitting right by a fireplace. I probably am happier at a burger joint, but I’m not always allowed to do that [laughs]. Nicole is a nutritionist and a personal trainer. So we’ll share half of my burger and half of her salad.

Nicole and I used to run together along the West Side. I still love to run when it’s cold, either along the river or in Central Park. They redid the reservoir running path recently so that’s been nice — just have to watch out for the ice. On Sunday, we still try to get a workout in together, whether running or something else.
