Big Oil fires back at Blas
An ad campaign attacking Mayor de Blasio’s plan to sue oil companies over climate change will launch Monday.
The blitz is sponsored by the Manufacturers’ Accountability Project, a brainchild of the National Association of Manufacturers.
“Mayor de Blasio’s attack on manufacturers is just the latest example of the mayor taking his marching orders from deep-pocketed activist foundations and trial lawyers looking for a big payday on the backs of taxpayers,” said Linda Kelly, NAM’s senior vice president.
The city is suing BP, Chevron, Conoco-Phillips, ExxonMobil and Royal Dutch Shell.
