Gay skater: I’d meet VP
Openly gay US figure skater Adam Rippon said on Monday that he’d be willing to meet with Vice President Mike Pence.
Rippon, whose dazzling performance helped the US figure-skating team win gold in Pyeonchang, had criticized Pence as head of the nation’s Olympic delegation, claiming the veep supported gay-conversion therapy. When Pence offered to meet, Rippon said it would be a distraction.
But after skating Monday, Rippon responded, “Yes, of course,” when asked if he’d meet Pence.
