Subway drama on Upper West
A crazed man snarled subway traffic Sunday morning after he went running along the tracks on the Upper West Side, cops said.
Straphangers described a bizarre scene when the 21-year-old homeless man took off down the 1,2 and 3 tracks at West 96th Street and Broadway at around 8 a.m.
“There was a guy in a white Tshirt carrying a vinyl record,” straphanger Stefan Loble, 44, said. “A big 12-inch vinyl record out of [its] sleeve.”
Loble said he saw the man on the tracks, “and then he disappeared. They couldn’t find him.”
The power was cut for about an hour as cops followed him toward West 86th Street. Police hit him with a Taser dart, which may have caused his bleeding wound (left), before he was taken to Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital.
