Ruth’s Jersey City grill coming

- By JENNIFER GOULD KEIL jgould@nypost.com

Ruth’s Chris Steak House is opening a Jersey City outpost at 499 Washington Blvd.

The 11,750-square-foot space, slated to open this summer, will seat 420 — including 70 seats outside.

It will feature a bar, main dining room, four private dining rooms and two outdoor patios.

The location is in the bustling Newport neighborhood, the massive 600-acre livework waterfront community developed by LeFrak Commercial and Newport Associates Development Company.

Menya Sandaime, a local Jersey City ramen spot, also just opened its second location at 564 Washington — while Los Cuernos, a Mexican eatery, will open in April at 499 Washington.

Too tired to cook for your own dinner party? Lena’s Italian Kitchen, which serves up home-cooked meals you can (shhhh!) pretend you made, is opening a second location on the Upper East Side at 1167 Second Ave., between 61st and 62nd streets.

The 900-square-foot space is takeout and delivery only, with four stools where folks can sit while waiting for their orders. It is slated to open this fall. The first location is an 1,100square-foot space at 551 Second Ave. between 30th and 31st streets in Kips Bay.

Eastern Consolidated’s Joe Robinson arranged the 10-year lease on behalf of owner Paul Nicotra, the grandson of Louis “Gino” Branchinelli, who founded the popular brand of Gino’s Pizzerias and Gino’s Italian Ices after immigrating to the US in 1937.

Lena’s is named for Nicotra’s grandmother. The restaurant menu is based on her recipes, and the space is even designed to look like her kitchen, with exposed brick and an industrial chic update.

Dishes include Italian classics like Lena’s homemade meatballs and their signature rigatoni fiorentina dish.
