A male model stabbed himself in the neck outside his West Village home above the famed Waverly Inn restaurant Monday — leaving a trail of blood down the entire stoop, police said.

Damon Tolstoy, 49, was distraught over a break-up when he cut himself at around 8 a.m. outside his front door on Bank Street, where ex-Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter’s eatery occu- pies the ground floor, cops said.

Tolstoy was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Just four days ago, he posted a photo of himself on Instagram sitting on the same stoop with the caption “Stair wars if u gettit.”

In a bio on his Web site, Tolstoy describes himself as an “American actor, model, producer and licensed sport fishing Captain from the Bronx, NY and Los Angeles, CA.”

He calls himself “an adventure-seeker by nature and an outdoorsman at heart” who “enjoys his free time surfing, fishing and traveling.”

The building’s superintendent said Tolstoy moved in two months ago after living around the corner with his girlfriend.

Ken Mason, 49, a manager at the Waverly Inn, said he was catsitting in a first-floor apartment at the address when he awoke to a loud voice and then saw Tolstoy outside on the stoop bleeding.

“He was lying on his back, face up,” said Mason. “There was a lot of blood. All down the steps.”

Tolstoy’s girlfriend was not at the home, which is across the street from disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein’s fivestory town house.

Residents in the area were stunned by the bloody scene.

Chris Reyes, 34, called the sight of the blood-soaked stoop “shocking.”

“I walk past this place every day and I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Reyes. “This is a quiet neighborhood.”
