Weird BUT true

His logic blows. A Texas man who was convicted of four DWIs tried to overturn his prison sentence by insisting Breathalyzer-centric laws discriminate against alcoholics.

Ralph Alfred Friesenhahn, of San Antonio, said the state’s 0.08 blood-alcohol limit is unfair to drunks because they have higher tolerances and can function normally on that much booze.

An Austin appeals court judge didn’t buy it.

Doctors treating a growth on a California boy’s elbow sliced it open — and found a live snail inside.

Dr. Albert Khait, an assistant professor of pediatrics at Loma Linda University in Los Angeles, said the 11-year old had scraped his elbow in a tide pool at a nearby beach, and a mollusk egg was likely embedded under his skin.

The boy decided to take the checkered periwinkle marine snail home as a pet.

Angry parents are boycotting the new kids’ movie “Peter Rabbit” for what they call “allergy bullying.”

The movie features a scene in which a group of bunnies pelts allergic farmer Tom McGregor with blackberries, sending him into anaphylactic shock. One mom called the scene “aggravated assault.”

Sony Pictures apologized.

These pests deserve each other.

California thieves broke open a mailbox and swiped a package — which was filled with 500 cockroaches.

Rosalinda Vizina, an entomologist from Seaside, said the roaches were for a study. “I hope they went everywhere,” she said.

There’s such thing as too nice, Canada.

A Canadian woman spotted a burglar breaking into her house — but instead of fighting back, she gave her a hug and some cookies.

Leah Ross, from Winnipeg, returned home to find her door open and the 17-year-old wearing her jacket and watch.

Ross gave the teen ginger snaps and eggnog. They have since become unlikely friends.
