Two twin brothers were busted on Thursday for allegedly stockpiling explosive materials and crafting bombs in their Bronx home — with help from highschool students.

Christian Toro (inset top), a former teacher at the Harlem Prep charter school, and Tyler Toro (inset bottom) were arrested by the FBI as part of a joint investigation with the NYPD.

The 27-year-old siblings had been forging explosive devices in their Pelham Parkway apartment since October using gunpowder from fireworks, a criminal complaint charges.

A search of the residence allegedly turned up chemicals that, when combined, can form thermite, which is used in incendiary bombs.

Federal agents also found “a yellow backpack in a living area . . . which contained, among other things, a purple index card with handwriting that reads, ‘ UNDER THE FULL MOON THE SMALL ONES WILL KNOW TERROR,’ ” according to the complaint.

Authorities said Christian paid two students $50 an hour to “break apart fireworks and store the powder that came out of the fireworks in containers.”

Cops were tipped off this year by Harlem Prep officials after they found explosive-making instructions on Christian’s laptop.

The FBI launched an investigation in December after the school received a bomb threat, but it didn’t start probing Christian until after the information was found on his computer.

“This case likely saved many, many lives,” NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill said at a press conference Thursday night.

A 15-year-old female student who was in a sexual relationship with Christian was arrested for making the threat against Harlem Prep, and Christian resigned soon after, law-enforcement sources said. Christian was later arrested on sex charges.

He turned the laptop in after stepping down, and a technical specialist at Harlem Prep wound up finding the bomb-making info.

The Toros were both slapped with federal bomb-making charges. Christian was hit with an additional count of distributing explosive materials to a minor.
