Woman slashes wrists at court

Apparently distraught after a judge tossed out her lawsuit against the bank that had foreclosed on her home, a woman slit her wrists inside a Brooklyn courthouse Thursday morning, sources told The Post.

Despondent plaintiff Dina Semacaritt, 52, had been sitting in the crowded hallway on the fifth floor of Brooklyn’s Civil Court when she appeared to faint, a courthouse source said.

When court officers rushed to her aid, they saw a pool of blood expanding beneath her.

She was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital with her husband, Marcus, the source said.

Hospital officials declined to describe her condition Thursday night.

Earlier in the morning, Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Johnny Lee Baynes had thrown out Semacaritt’s year-old fraud lawsuit against Astoria Federal Savings & Loan Association.

Attorneys for the bank had additionally asked the judge to hit Semacaritt with penalties, including that she reimburse its legal fees.

The judge did not do so, her still-shaken lawyer, Jonathan Rosenberg, told The Post Thursday night.

“It was wrong for the bank to come down so hard with threats of attorneys’ fees and sanctions,” Rosenberg said, declining to elaborate.

Drops of blood were found on the floor of a nearby woman’s bathroom, indicating Semacaritt may have cut her wrists there before sitting down in the hallway where she was found.
