NCAA: Hall tops Friars in suspended game

Khadeen Carrington had 25 points and Seton Hall held off Providence 89-77 in a game suspended because of a slippery floor. Referees halted play at Dunkin’ Donuts Center, which doubles as an ice hockey rink, because of unsafe conditions with 13:03 left in the second half Wednesday night. The game resumed Thursday at Alumni Hall on the Providence campus.

Aaron died Thursday after being hit in the back with stray gunfire on New Year’s Eve, the school announced. The 19-year old was shot at a party in Severn Md., and was left paralyzed.

Arizona’s Allonzo Trier has been declared ineligible after the reappearan­ce of a banned substance that led to a 19game suspension for the men’s basketball star last season. In Philadelph­ia, Tramaine Isabell scored 29 points and made two free throws with 2.2 seconds left to give Drexel a 34-point comeback win over Delaware for the largest comeback win in the history of Division I basketball. Drexel trailed 53-19 with 2:36 to play in the first half. The mark stood since Dec. 30, 1950 when Duke beat Tulane 74-72 after trailing by 32.
