Williams making most of 10 days

- By MARC BERMAN

Troy Williams is making the most of every second — let alone these 10 days.

Signed to a 10-day contract Wednesday, Williams, the 6-foot-7 athletic small forward, played the entire fourth quarter of the Knicks’ 121-112 loss to the Celtics on Saturday at the Garden. He flew for 14 points in 12 minutes, shooting 6-of-9 from the field and grabbing four rebounds.

The 23-year-old scored only some of his buckets in garbage time in his Garden debut and was getting out on the break and doing what coach Jeff Hornacek loves — playing fast. He was cut by the Rockets last week to make room for the newly signed Joe Johnson.

“It’s me trying to fit into the system,’’ Williams told The Post. “They’ve been doing this for the season. I’m not trying to change nothing. I’m trying to fit into the program. It’s coming naturally.”

Sure is. Undrafted in 2016 after coming out of Indiana, Williams had a strong Knicks debut Thursday in Orlando with two baskets in six minutes.

Knicks president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry is on a mission to make the Knicks more athletic — especially at small forward.

Williams was in a super fast system with ex-Knick coach Mike D’Antoni, but played in just four games this season for the mighty Rockets. He’s still maintained his game shape.

“We were the first team, then the second team in the league so it was hard to get ahead of those guys and get on the court,’’ Williams said. “I still have respect for those guys. Going back and forth between the G League and NBA helped out a lot.”

According to Williams, seven teams contacted his agent, Stephen Pina, with the choice down to the Knicks and Trail Blazers. It seems like he’s made the right choice.

Trey Burke is the first Knick to post at least 25 points and five assists off the bench in consecutive games since J.R. Smith during the 2012-13 season. ... The Knicks had their first Chinese New Year celebration Saturday.
