NBA: Westbrook’s monster night halts hot Raptors

Russell Westbrook had 37 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds for his fifth straight triple-double, Steven Adams scored 25 points, and the Thunder beat the Raptors 132-125 on Sunday in Toronto, snapping the home team’s winning streak at 11. Paul George scored 22 points and Carmelo Anthony had 15 as the Thunder extended their winning streak to six.

Marcus Smart (thumb) sat out for Boston. In Minneapoli­s, James Harden had 34 points and 12 assists, and Houston held off a fourth-quarter rally to beat the Timberwolv­es 129-120 for the Rockets’ 26th win in 28 games.

Piston’s coach Stan Van Gundy was fined $15,000 for referring to the officiatin­g in his team’s loss to the Trail Blazers on Saturday as “embarrassi­ng for the league.”

NFL: Raiders to send special-teams stud Patterson to Pats

The Raiders are trading star kick returner Cordarrell­e Patterson to the Patriots, according to reports. NFL Network reported that Oakland will receive a fifth-round pick in the deal and send one of its six sixth-round picks to New England. Patterson has a career average of 30.2 yards per return.

NCAA: Lady Vols lose first home NCAA Tournament game

Tennessee lost for the first time at home in women’s NCAA Tournament history when Marie Gulich had 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead sixthseede­d Oregon State to a 66-59 second-round win in Knoxville, Tenn. The third-seeded Lady Vols had been 57-0 at home with most of those victories coming under late Hall of Fame coach Pat Summitt.

In College Station, Texas, freshman Chennedy Carter hit a 3 with 3.2 seconds left, capping a 37-point performanc­e, to help fourth-seeded Texas A&M rally from a 17-point second-half deficit and beat No. 5-seed DePaul 80-79.
