An Extreme-Violence Fix: Scrapping the Right to Guns
Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens wants the Second Amendment repealed, which he based partially on the March for Our Lives protest (“Ex-Supreme: Nix 2nd Amendment,” March 29).
Maybe those who are tired of protests, the biased press and freedom of speech and religion should march to repeal the First Amendment.

Justice Stevens’ New York Times op-ed on repealing the Second Amendment shows why he was unqualified to be a member of the Supreme Court. He had preconceived notions throughout his career.
The Second Amendment is necessary because of the possibility of a volatile and lawless America, combined with lawmakers who openly disregard our laws (like our comrade Mayor de Blasio).
Remember that in Nazi Germany, the government disarmed Jewish citizens to the point that they could not protect themselves against a murderous regime — and the rest is history. Don’t think it can’t happen in America.
We need non-intrusive sensors at school entrances with armed law enforcement, an age restriction of 25 for buying firearms and a national registry for the mentally ill. Elio Valenti Brooklyn

In 1929, Joseph Stalin disarmed portions of the Soviet population, and he went on to murder millions of people.

It is absurd to say we must have gun control. Once someone has a lethal weapon, he or she can kill with it.
