BMW has put some heat under the 2019 BMW X4 revealed earlier this year. The sporty second-generation X4 M40i M Performance unveiled in New York is powered by an inline six-cylinder engine with a maxmum power output of 355 horsepower, enabling it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.6 seconds.

An eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive are also part of the package, along with adaptive suspension and a sports exhaust. Standard MSport brakes are fitted as standard to make sure drivers can call on phenomenal stopping power to match the car’s power and precision handling.

BMW calls the X4 a sports activity coupe, but it could be called a crossover. The 2019 model has sportier proportions, wider tracks, a lower center of gravity and improved aerodynamics. Passengers can enjoy a larger panoramic moon roof and a 3-Zone Climate Control system.

You’ll be able to spot the M40i by its larger air intakes and black chrome exterior elements. It will be available this summer for $60,450.

2019 Mercedes C-Class Coupe and Cabrio

The redesigned 2019 C-Class Coupe and Cabriolet are celebrating their world premiere in the Big Apple, along with hot Mercedes-AMG versions.

The standard C300 versions have a turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 255 horsepower. The performance models, badged AMG C 43, will be powered by a 3-liter V-6 with 385 horsepower.

The C300 is available with 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive for improved traction and driving stability, especially in adverse road conditions, and handling and grip will be honed further by the electronic dynamics control and traction control system.

The 2019 C Class will go on sale later this year, and prices will probably stay around the same, starting from close to $40,000.

2019 Audi A6

The all-new 2019 Audi A6 making its U.S. debut in New York majors on advanced tech. As we get more used to talking to digital entities, cars have gotten more chatty. So if you say “I’m cold,” the A6 will respond with, “What temperature would you like to set the cabin to?”

The A6 processes questions and commands through onboard stored data and information from the cloud using its MMI system. Naturally the A6 offers music streaming, connectivity and its own app, and the latest MMI Navigation Plus includes a self-learning function that generates search suggestions based on frequently driven routes. The route guidance can also factor in traffic conditions throughout the region.

As for the drive, Audi promises the A6 sedan will be noticeably more dynamic than the outgoing model, thanks to its innovative suspension. A smooth and powerful all-new V6 turbocharged engine is paired with new 48-volt mild-hybrid technology to boost efficiency. It’s roomier, too, and the handsfree trunk release is operated with a kicking motion under the rear of the vehicle.

The high-tech third generation 2019 Acura RDX SUV has its world debut in New York. For the first time, the RDX has been designed and developed in America and will be produced in Raymond, Ohio. For the first time, too, an A-Spec sport-style variant has been created for the RDX. A welcome return is a SuperHandling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) version for the RDX lineup, making it the quickest and besthandling RDX ever. Inside the new RDX, the cabin is even more up-scale and features what Acura describes as a groundbreaking True Touchpad Interface. It may be worth asking the show hosts to demonstrate exactly what it does.

2019 Volvo XC60 Inscription

Volvo was once famed for large square wagons that lasted forever and majored on safety. If an elk ran out in the road in Sweden, the Volvo was ready for it. Now Volvo is majoring on premium quality, simple, stylish Scandinavian design and innovation.

With the current demand for SUVs, however, Volvo has had to join that party, and the company now has three new SUVs on the market for the first time.

The XC60 has won multiple awards, including being crowned World Car of the Year at the Auto Show preview. The new Inscription trim unveiled at the show adds upscale elements to the line, while safety and driver-assistance features include Volvo Cars’ Pilot Assist system, City Safety, Run-off Road protection and mitigation, Cross Traffic alert with brake support and the 360-degree camera.

Some clever interior design provides useful storage space in the doors and under the seats, plus a special space for phones and wireless charging.
