Whaler of a tale draws to a close

Claudio’s — the oldest restaurant in the US that has been continually owned by the same family — is capping its record at 148 years.

That’s because the founding Claudio family is handing ownership of the Greenport, LI, landmark to four longtime patrons — power lawyer Perry Weitz, his son David Weitz, Ian Behar and Ryan Sasson.

The restaurant was founded in 1870 by Portuguese whaler Manuel Claudio, but the latest generation of the family reportedly has no interest in the business. While the price wasn’t released, the venerable seafood joint had been on the market for $12 million in 2015, according to reports.

The owners have hired a management team of Tora Matsuoka, who is an owner of Sen in Sag Harbor, and restaurateur Stephen Loffredo, who owned the popular former Soho spot Zoe among other eateries.

New management projects the 11 Main St. eatery will be open by Memorial Day weekend.

Inday, the NoMad-based Indian hotspot, is opening an express outpost called Inday Go Go at the new Urbanspace at 570 Lexington Ave. Inday also just last week opened its third location, a 22-seat spot at 708 Third Ave.

If you can’t fly to Colombia for that extra-fresh cup of coffee, Devoción’s new Manhattan location may be your best bet.

The Williamsburg-based coffee house has long FedExed its direct-trade Colombian beans to its flagship cafe on a weekly basis.

On Monday, Devoción is opening a 1,700-square-foot, 40-seat space in TF Cornerstone’s new luxury building at 33 Bond St. The space boasts 18-foot, floor-to-ceiling windows, and comes with an indoor tropical garden inspired by Colombia’s rain forest.
