Yankees have faith their former captain will be a winner in Miami — just as he was here

DETROIT — The Jeter Way will work. It real ly will . Even in Miami. That’s the word from those Yankees who know him best.

Jeter’s 4-11 Marlins arrive at Yankee Stadium on Monday for a two-game series without their CEO and co-owner Derek Jeter, but Jeter’s Marlins some day will be good, these Yankees insist.

There remains supreme faith in Jeter, who owns five championship rings with the Yankees.

“Everything I know about him and knowing him for the last 10 years, he’s going to be successful,’’ CC Sabathia told The Post at Comerica Park before the Yankees split doubleheader against the Tigers was rained out Sunday on another bitter cold, wet day in Motown.

Jeter continues to be an inspiration to players in his new starring role.

“I think it’s a good thing for the game, him being a minority owner. It’s a good example for players like myself and other players, something to strive for,’’ Sabathia said. “I’m not surprised at all that he is in ownership.’’

Sabathia said he talks to Jeter “all the time,’’ but they rarely talk baseball.

Jet er will not be talking to anyone at Yankee Stadium the next two days because he has opted not to come to the Stadium for the games, saying, “It would be an awkward situation for me to actually go to Yankee Stadium.’’

Brett Gardner said Marlins fans must realize“it’ s along process ’’ to turn around a fractured franchise. The Marlins have not been to the postseason since they beat Jeter’s Yankees in 2003. They’ve had eight straight losing seasons.

“I’ve always said that no matter what Derek puts his hands on or gets involved in he will be successful and I don’t think it will be any different with the Marlins,’’ Gardner said. “I know people question the direction t hey a re goi ng and t he decis i o ns t hey a re making, b ut I t hi nk over t i me those moves will probably pay dividends in the future.

“Another [Yankee] guy that he has over there with him now is

Gary Denbo, who I’m such a huge fan of. I feel whatever he gets involved with he’s going to be successful at it, so I think they are going to do a good job at it. It may take awhile, but they have a lot of talent over there, a lot of young kids and a bright future.”

There is a strength in commitment to the Jeter Way.

“[Jeter and Denbo] are in it for the right reasons,’’ Gardner said. “You have to trust the process and understand things are not going to happen overnight. Derek is doing what he wants to do. He’s happy now, a family now, a kid. He’s doing well. I knew he wanted to get involved in ownership, but I didn’t think it would happen that quickly. But those kind of opportunities, don’t present themselves often so I’m happy he is doing something he is passionate about.’’

Aaron Judge first met Jeter at Yankees Captain Camp.

“I know he is going to do the right thing,’’ Judge said. “He has a lot of great people around him, Gary Denbo especially, so I know it’s going to work out for him. Derek is a leader, a winner. He is going to do what is right for that team and that organization and eventually that is the mindset they are going to have.’’ Judge offered this insight: “The big thing about Derek is that he is not afraid to fail,’’ Judge said. “It’s going to turn eventually. That is the biggest thing I kind of picked up from him and it’s going to continue as an owner.’’

Jeter the player always said bring it on.

“He didn’t care, he’s going to go out there and play,’’ Judge said. “It didn’t matter if it was the first inning or the bottom of the ninth, Game 6 of the World Series, it didn’t matter. That’s what he is doing now, he wants to impact the game in a different way. It’s really cool to see.’’

In the Yankees clubhouse there remains Re2pect. That is not awkward at all.
