‘AMOUR’ PERFECT UNION

Trump, Macron act like a couple . . . of old pals

- By BOB FREDERICKS

The budding bromance between President Trump and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, was in full swing Tuesday, with the pair exchanging compliments and pecks on the cheek as they palled around the White House.

The duo displayed body language that appeared to suggest to the world they were not only allies but good buds as well.

“I like him a lot,” the commander in chief gushed after the two embraced in front of reporters. “They’re all saying what a great relationship we have, and they’re actually correct.

“It’s not fake news,” the president added. “We do have a very special relationship.”

Macron is in Washington, DC, for a three-day visit that kicked off on Monday.

Trump and Macron chatted without translators and stopped just outside the Oval Office to pose for pictures.

“He did a good job, a great job,” Trump said of the French leader. “He’s going to be a great president of France. Only a prediction.”

Macron, in turn, repeatedly thanked Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for rolling out the red carpet for his visit to the United States.

During their joint press conference, Macron repeatedly reached over with his left hand to touch Trump’s arm — and the pair exchanged brief kisses on the cheek, a traditional French greeting that Macron had initiated a day earlier.

Later on Tuesday Trump hosted Macron for a lavish state dinner, the first of his administration. Trump arrived with Melania, who was wearing a black Chantilly lace Chanel haute couture gown and gunmetal stiletto heels.

Macron and his wife, Brigitte, arrived shortly after with Brigitte in a cream-colored, fulllength gown with gold detail.
