Weird BUT true

You won’t want to try this delicious new delicacy after reading its packaging — no ifs, ands or butts.

The company that distributes “Angus’’ beef sausages in Australia accidentally left out the “g’’ in the name of its product. A picture of the package has become an Internet sensation.

“Your baby has a very cute pouch.’’

An Australian woman went on the Facebook page of a pregnant friend who rescues wombats, which have pouches like kangaroos and short tails.

She posted a picture of a baby wombat she picked up at the side of a road.

Her red-faced fan congratulated her on giving birth — thinking the marsupial was a human infant.

Finally — a “marathon’’ for those too lazy to go the distance.

The Texas town of Boerne is holding not a 5K race, but a “0.5K” race (546 yards) on May 4.

“Runners” will get a pint of beer at the start and the finish, as well as a midcourse doughnut break.

All entry spots in the “Underachievers’’ race — which raises money for charity — are sold out.

Cops in the Swiss town of Köniz decided to do something about lead-footed drivers and installed a speed cam on a heavily traveled thoroughfare. They caught a duck. The fowl flier was clocked whizzing over the road at 32 mph in an 18-mph zone.

The duck is unlikely to be prosecuted for foul play.

A group of law-abiding black bears paid an earlymorning visit to the parking lot of the Sheriff ’s Office in North Lake Tahoe, Calif.

A wry deputy walked up to them and told them, “The Sheriff ’s Office opens at 9 a.m. Come back then.’’

The office reported the encounter on Facebook, posting: “Looks like the bears are wide awake and hungry.

“They seemed well-mannered; as soon as they were told we weren’t open yet, they moved along.’’
