MLB: Walk in 10th propels D’backs by Nats

David Peralta connected twice in his first multihomer game and Nick Ahmed scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning, sending the Diamondbac­ks to a 4-3 victory over the Nationals on Saturday in Washington.

The NL West-leading Diamondbac­ks took the first two games of the weekend set in Washington to become the first NL team since the 1907 Cubs to win nine straight series to start a season.

In San Francisco, Chase Utley hit three doubles and a single as the Dodgers did damage against every Giants pitcher except emergency reliever Pablo Sandoval, on the way to a 15-6 rout in the first game of a day-night doublehead­er. The Giants won the second game, 8-3.

In Boston, Wilson Ramos went deep again and scored on Denard Span’s inside-the-park homer, helping the Rays beat the Red Sox, 12-6, for their eighth consecutiv­e victory. It’s the longest win streak for Tampa Bay since taking nine in a row in July 2014.

NHL: Sharks even series with 2OT victory

Logan Couture’s second goal of the game, on the power play at 5:13 of the second overtime, lifted the Sharks to a 4-3 victory over the Golden Knights, tying their Western Conference semifinal series at one game apiece. Moments after Vegas’ Jon Merrill was called for hooking, Couture found the back of the net, as the Sharks stole home-ice advantage from Vegas.

The Golden Knights, who lost for the first time in six playoff games, thought they won in the first overtime when Jonathan Marchessau­lt’s backhand sailed past Jones with 3:02 left, but officials ruled there was goaltender interferen­ce when Marchessau­lt ran into Jones’ blocker and spun him around before his shot.

In Tampa, Fla., Rick Nash and Boston’s high-scoring line of Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak and Brad

Marchand are to a flying start. Nash had two goals and Bergeron, Pastrnak and Marchand combined for 10 points Saturday, helping the Bruins pull away for a 6-2 victory over the Lightning in Game 1.

Bergeron also scored twice, Marchand had a goal and two assists, and Pastrnak finished with four assists.

NBA: Bad hamstring to keep Rubio out of Game 1

Jazz point guard Ricky Rubio will miss Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Rockets on Sunday because of a strained left hamstring.

Rubio left Friday night’s game against the Thunder in the first quarter with the injury. The team says it does not know how long he will be out.

ETC.: Late goal sends Red Bulls past Galaxy

Alejandro Romero Gamarra scored a late goal and Bradley Wright-Phillips had two assists to help the Red Bulls beat the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-2 in Carson, Calif.

Gamarra converted from the spot to give New York a 3-2 lead in the 84th minute after the Galaxy’s Dave Romney was called for a hand ball in the area.

Luis Robles had three acrobatic saves, including two diving stops and a leaping deflection, for the Red Bulls (4-3-0). The Galaxy (3-4-1) have lost three in a row at home.

The St. John’s baseball team set a program for a runs in a game during a 34-7 win over Xavier, in Cincinnati. The Red Storm, who had 31 hits, scored 10 times in the fourth inning after trailing 6-0.

Rafael Nadal defeated David Goffin 6-4, 6-0 in Spain for his 400th career win on clay on, reaching the Barcelona Open final for the 11th time. He will face 19year-old Stefanos Tsitsipas. Tsitsipas defeated fifthseede­d Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain 7-5, 6-3.
