E&Y in ‘harass’ settle
A female partner at Ernst & Young has agreed to leave the firm as part of a settlement over allegations that a male senior executive sexually assaulted and harassed her, The Post has learned.
Jessica Casucci, who made partner in the Big Three accounting firm’s tax division in 2014, claimed that the company did nothing to help her for years, according to a complaint filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission last month.
“Jessica Casucci and EY have reached a fair and equitable confidential settlement of this matter that involves Jessica leaving the firm,” public relations exec John La Place said in a statement. “We are pleased to have reached this resolution.”
The suit was resolved for an undisclosed amount.
Casucci alleges that in 2015 John Martinkat, a high-ranking partner in EY’s tax division, groped and sexually harassed her in front of two partners, who did nothing to stop Martinkat or report him to the company.
Martinkat was recently fired, a source at the company told The Post. Last month, The Wall Street Journal reported he had been put on administrative leave.
Martinkat also sent suggestive texts and e-mails to Casucci trying to get her to come to his hotel room while they were on a business trip in Orlando, Fla., according to the lawsuit.
