Yanks won’t rush back Drury

- By DAN MARTIN

Brandon Drury’s rehab was moved from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to Double-A Trenton on Friday to keep him closer to New York, where the third baseman continues to receive treatment for migraines and blurry vision.

Aaron Boone said there still is no target date for Drury, who went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and played nine innings at third on Friday, to make it back to the Yankees.

“Day-by day we’ll evaluate the situation and see where we’re at roster-wise and make decisions accordingly,” the manager said before the Yankees opened a ninegame homestand with a 7-6 win over the Indians.

Boone admitted the production the Yankees have received at third from Miguel Andujar, who had the game-winning hit Friday, has played a role in bringing Drury along slowly.

But Boone added the team was trying to balance both issues.

“Brandon is moving in a good direction,’’ Boone said. “We’re also thinking big-picture here. We want to feel like when we do pull that trigger that he’s in a good place, not just because he’s had a couple of good days and hopefully the problem is squashed.”

In the meantime, Boone said Drury will continue to visit Dr. Gil Chimes, the team’s consulting Sports Medicine Chiropractor.

“We feel like he’s making progress,” Boone said.

The Yankees survived a scare when Didi Gregorius was hit in the back of the head by Francisco Lindor when both were diving for second base on a force play in the top of the eighth.

Lindor’s cleats caught Gregorius, but he stayed in the game after being checked out by the training staff.

“I was fine,” Gregorius said. “I was trying to get up, but [my teammates] were telling me to stay down.”

Boone asked Gregorius what day it was and Gregorius responded with a Star Wars reference, “May the fourth be with you.”

The manager said Gregorius would likely get Saturday off, adding that was likely even before the collision.

Boone said Tommy Kahnle (shoulder tendinitis) should be on the mound throwing a bullpen next week and may be back in the bullpen “in a couple weeks.” Adam Warren (right back strain) played catch for the first time Thursday and Boone expects him to be back before the end of the month. ... Neil Walker reached base four times, with two hits and a pair of walks.
